The best time to arrive at The O2 Arena for a concert
How to choose your arrival time at The O2 — anchored to your ticket's door time, security and food, not just when the headliner starts.

Anchor to the door time, not the headliner
The most common arrival mistake is planning around when your favourite act is on stage. The number that actually governs your evening is the door time, and on a busy night the support act and the headliner can be a long way apart.
Your ticket and the venue app show the door time for your specific event, and it can change at short notice. Plan from that, not from a stage time you saw online for a different city or night.
Build a buffer for security and bags
Everyone passes a security and bag check on the way in, and that is where the queue builds just before doors. The lighter you travel, the faster you clear it, because oversized bags are the thing most likely to slow you or send you to bag storage.
The O2 is also cashless, so there is nothing to withdraw on the way, but do leave time if you want food, a drink or merchandise before you sit down. Treat security and food as their own slice of the evening, not an afterthought.
Seated or standing changes the maths
If you have a seat, you do not need to be early to enjoy the show; a comfortable arrival that clears security with time for a drink is plenty. Your seat is your seat whenever you walk in.
If you are standing and want to be near the front, the calculation flips: for a popular act you may need to arrive well before doors and accept a long wait. Decide which matters more to you, the spot or the spare time, before you set off.
A simple arrival formula
Work backwards from your ticket's door time. Subtract a margin for the security queue, then add any time you want for food, drink or merchandise, then add your travel buffer on top. That total is your leave-home time.
When in doubt, earlier is calmer than later: arriving with time to spare turns a rushed, anxious entry into a relaxed start. Always confirm your door time on your ticket and the venue app on the day, because timings can change with little warning.
